On page 114 it says that Lucy has questions about her connection to Mary and Eliza. But how does she know about them?? I don’t remember reading anything about them until now.

I enjoyed this more then I thought I would. While it has nothing to do with the octopus, the story was sweet and I enjoyed the characters.

Loved it!

I’m intrigued by the premise of the book, but I’m not a fan of how the characters speak. I know it’s exactly how people speak but it’s annoying when it’s written down.

This reminds me of tomorrow, tomorrow and tomorrow. I know it’s a good book but I can’t wait to be done with it. A slog to get thru. Long meandering paragraphs about nothing and then super short bursts of important information. Ie Ina and Rafis kids, the death of Todds mother. I also don’t understand what’s going on half the time. Some authors just assume you understand what they’re inferring. Almost done

I’m listening to this on audio with Julia Roberts reading the Lisa parts. She does a good job, but the writing to me feels very sharp and I find it hard to listen to. It reminds me of the Britney Spears memoir where the narration was great but the writing kinda sucked. There is no flow or elegance in the writing. Riley keoughs parts are way better and her voice is so much more soulful and beautiful.
