50%? idk, Chapter 8
I was thinking there was for sure parentification before, but it was confirmed by the end of this chapter. Sigh.

Yeah, no. A high school would not just allow a 5 year old sibling to be babysat at the nurses office/front office/library so a student could attend classes for the day.

I'm trying so hard with this book, but this wrench is a big one.

Dude! He needs a freaking 5 point booster seat!!

Guessing on the percentage done on the audiobook. I'm on chapter 5 right now and OMG this author trying to write a 5yo is super cringe. 5yos do not talk like this nor understand how to behave this way.

4 chapters in and these are my strong thoughts so far:
Overly detailed, as though to set the seen in a movie or play. Overdone and unnecessary for a book.

The behavior of the characters also seems quite a bit over the top.

Not finishing this one. It was a second book I was trying after not really liking another from this author. I don't think we make a good match.

I like this author, but I'm not loving the immaturity of this one.

I forgot how angry I get with Micah in this book.

So many descriptors that I'm tending to tune them out. Also not sure about the voice of the narrator. She seems to be trying to say just about everything in her "sexy" voice. It's super annoying.

The diary entries feel like they just drag on. I think it would be better if she just told the diary parts of the story quickly instead of drawing those parts out.

I just really struggled to get into this book. I'm over 7 hours into the audiobook and this is my second attempt to finish it in a few years. I give up.

I'm an hour and a half into this book and it just feels like it's dragging. I am so disappointed because I absolutely loved the Court of Thornes and Roses series.

Didn't finish. Wasn't worth the time.

I had to take a break from this one. There was just a ton of stuff going on in it. The series I had just finished before this book became available was also way too similar, so I kept getting characters mixed up. Hopefully now that I have had a couple completely different books to kind of clear my mind, I can get back to this one.

Not sure I'll finish this one. Chapter 13 and still not into it. :-/

I'm struggling with finishing this book. I'll take a break from it with another and come back to it in a fee days.

I usually love MacAlister's books, but I'm struggling with this one.

I'm not sure if I will finish this one. It turns out it's a Christian romance, which isn't usually what I go for. On top of that, I am struggling with the writing. I don't like the way she will be talking about today, and then the next chapter will start on tomorrow, but look back on things we weren't present for the day before. The characters don't really seem all that deep, yet, even though things are moving fast.
