Reread after loving it when it first came out. As good as I remember.

To colleagues who see this - oops, I started this before we were told to get good sleep last night and tonight!

I like linguistics and the changing of language, but considering I'm not much of a social media user, I'm not sure if this is for me. I'm learning, so that's good, but not sure how far I will read.

95% selected because of the beautiful, intriguing cover.

Laughed out loud numerous times so far. Love the characters!

This is SO good. Doing partial audio and the narrator is fabulous.

Funny initially, and a bit easy to relate to due to the time period (I was in college at the same time), but I'm now growing tired of the story of a 19-year-old on her study abroad adventure. This may become a DNF.

Very glad this was a book club selection. I'm learning so much (including general history of the times, not just specific to her) and her story is fascinating. I'm viewing some concepts through a different lens already.

Loved this book a few years ago. Received the ARC for the sequel, so doing a reread before reading the new one. So far it's as engaging as it was the first time.

Second sci-fi in month! (Not planned or preferred, but I finally got to the top of the waiting list at the library for this one.)

Interesting that there is nothing like suspense or mystery in the list of genres. I am getting humor and adult contemporary but there's also been a mystery (part of it was knowing there was a mystery but not yet knowing what it is), and enough suspense now that I can't stop reading.

Social Justice book club selection. Glad it is or I wouldn't have picked this up. It's exposing me to new ideas.

Still quite dense. Lots of historical details. A kids' edition may serve me better, but I'll keep at it. This got a GREAT recommendation from a local bookstore.

Completely different than my usual, but I keep hearing about it so thought I'd give it a try. Ready Player One and Project Hail Mary are also beyond my usual genres and I liked them, so it's good for me to break out once in a while. My jury is still out (early yet).

This may get put on the "for later" shelf. I like the entertaining characters but was reading this solely to match the by-a-pool-in-Southern-California vibe, but didn't get much reading on vacation. To be determined.

Dense first chapter. Lots of historical geology (shifting rivers, limestone erosion, lake formation). There was one map in chapter 1 but I wish there were more to illustrate exact locations of places mentioned.
