Intro and first chapter really interesting. Second chapter was all about historical apocalyptical beliefs - less interesting.

I think I could read this five times and would continue to learn/retain more each time. Very easy-to-follow writing.

One of two books set in Utah that I'm reading prior to and during a trip. I'll likely not learn too much from this one, but it's the light selection.

I thought this would be a good selection for Juneteenth, and have been meaning to read it for years.

Shame on me. I didn't think I would like her, but had no reason. But I can't stop listening to her narrate her own audio book. What a full and sometimes tragic life. I appreciated the self deprecation early in the book, yet now feel sad about how she feels about herself.

Last memoir was by a celebrity I had never heard of. This time, I've heard of her, but was never a fan of her shows. Unfortunately, I'm learning why she may have fallen into some sexualized roles, and it's sad. So often what seems like a glamorous life has much trauma behind the scenes.

I've never watched One Tree Hill, but do find cults to be fascinating. I'm reading this for the Goodreads "Escapist Reads" bookmark, mostly because it was available through Libby and my other top choices are not.

Reread after loving it when it first came out. As good as I remember.

I like linguistics and the changing of language, but considering I'm not much of a social media user, I'm not sure if this is for me. I'm learning, so that's good, but not sure how far I will read.

This is SO good. Doing partial audio and the narrator is fabulous.

Funny initially, and a bit easy to relate to due to the time period (I was in college at the same time), but I'm now growing tired of the story of a 19-year-old on her study abroad adventure. This may become a DNF.

Very glad this was a book club selection. I'm learning so much (including general history of the times, not just specific to her) and her story is fascinating. I'm viewing some concepts through a different lens already.

Loved this book a few years ago. Received the ARC for the sequel, so doing a reread before reading the new one. So far it's as engaging as it was the first time.

Second sci-fi in month! (Not planned or preferred, but I finally got to the top of the waiting list at the library for this one.)

Interesting that there is nothing like suspense or mystery in the list of genres. I am getting humor and adult contemporary but there's also been a mystery (part of it was knowing there was a mystery but not yet knowing what it is), and enough suspense now that I can't stop reading.

Social Justice book club selection. Glad it is or I wouldn't have picked this up. It's exposing me to new ideas.

So far as entertaining and intriguing as reviews promised, with some pretty witty irreverency!
