Holiday reading wrap up!

Barring the Lord of the Rings essay that was a tad dry for my tastes, I’m enjoying these essays/articles.

After realising that NEMESIS MINE might not be the book for me right now, decide to try this while UK suffers heatwave & England World Cup game (why?!).

Ok, going to give this a few more pages but not feeling it at the moment. We shall see how I get on in the next day or two

I think I figured out why I’m struggling with this. This book is sold to us as a queer romance in the world of professional tennis, but it actually is much deeper than that. It tackles quite heavy issues such as mental health, panic attacks/anxiety, social media, etc.

Not sure am a fan of this audiobook’s reader. Either that or am on edge of reading slump. One or the other

I did a bad thing. I asked Claude AI to look at my Kindle Unlimited downloads and pick my next read that fitted PRIDE (aka that are queer or written by LGBTQ+ authors).

It picked Godkiller as “probably the most joyfully queer — it's written by a queer author, features prominent bi characters, and is set in a world where queerness is simply the norm.”

Let’s see how i go, shall we?
