Sanderson's tone and pace are noticeably different from Jordan's, but in such a respectful and honestly refreshing way that I find myself excited to see where Sanderson takes what Jordan started. So many areas where Jordan meandered or was drawing out over the last few installments are being immediately addressed and set up for resolution and it's so nice to see.

2 hours into this audiobook and I am *still* only in the prologue and haven't read from the perspective of a single main character yet.
I'm somehow both impressed and tired.

Diving right back into the middle of what is fondly known as "the slog" of this series. Praying for patience...

I wanted to love this book so much more than I am. It has honestly been a struggle to make myself return to it. There's nothing particularly wrong with it, I think I'm just not connecting with the characters very much.

I desperately needed a comfort read in my life, and this book still leaves me in absolute awe and amazement the second time around. Just for one day I would like to know what it is like in Tamsyn's noggin.

this will be my one non-fiction read for the next 5 years...

so far, 4 stars for vibes, 2.5 stars for characters, 3 stars for writing, and something extra sprinkled in for surprisingly enjoyable banter.
