I feel like this reads more middle grade than YA

Loooved the movie Forbidden Fruits, this is giving Forbidden Fruits with The Secret History mixed in

I looooove books written in 1st person where you can actually feel how young/stunted they are wow.

I signed up for a gothic fantasy set in a cathedral and got... A typical dungeons and dragons quest...

Still kinda boring but at least something is happening. I'm also just confused why Sybil is always called the best diviner but we're never really showed how or why. Is it just because she's more devoted? Less prone to frivolity? Just favoritism? lol it's like... okay sure I'll take your word for it I guess.

On paper, this should be a five star read for me but the writing so far isn't doing anything; it is actually taking me out of the world just from how boring it is 😭

Moving a lot slower than Sharp Objects, but I like how palpable the despair brought by poverty feels.

The writing is so boring, it's bringing down what would otherwise be an interesting premise

Really dry and boring writing, but it also feels like a criminal minds episode so I'm sat and intrigued.
