Good historical fiction for kids. 1930’s and full of historical facts that might lead to interest in learning more. Roosevelt, CCC, Togo the sled dog invention of braces and other topics are woven into the story. Many references to Laura Ingalls Wilder books and if you liked those, you will like this book. The main character is young female with a male friend. I think it would be interesting to both boys and girls.
