Interesting, but often confusing ("he" frequently used to start a section of the chapter without a clear antecedent), unnecessarily vulgar in places, and WAY too long. Despite all that it was well done enough that I looked at the rest of the series... but at something like over 1200 pages for the other 2 books, decided it's not worth it for me.

“You’ve Got Mail” (always a classic) set with journalists, magic typewriters, and a war between factions led by opposing gods…. Very well done and I enjoyed it tremendously! Ended in a cliffhanger(s) and I’m looking forward to book two.

Started, but didn’t find myself enjoying it enough to stick with it. Maybe took too much mental effort for this stage of life?! Would consider going back to it someday!

Really enjoyed, but didn’t quite have the 5-star charm of Jacqueline in Paris. Definitely made me want to learn more about wine!

Movie rating: PG-13 for implied romance, violence (in WWII-era occupied France)

Mostly good. Different tone/feel than other series. Feels somewhat Asian which was interesting. Heroine referred to her dead parents (not a spoiler) way too often. I think I’ll continue the series but not chomping at the bit to do so.

Movie rating: PG-13 for violence/intense evil. No language or romance.
