Found this book at random in the library. I have no idea whether it’s going to be an examination of the possible science behind crop circles or whether it’ll go full conspiracy, but I guess I’m gonna find out

Why is this book suddenly a Biblical allegory?? I knew Severian was viewed as a Christ-figure but I didn’t think it would be THIS blatant

The only way I can explain the experience of reading this series is that it’s like the narrator, Severian, hates you personally. I’m here for it, but also, my brain hurts

I think the narrator of this one is really going to bother me :/

Not impressed with the writing so far—“tall pines dwarfed the buildings”—could I not have gathered the pines were tall from “dwarfed”?

Rereading by listening to the full-cast audiobook and it is EXCELLENT.

Reading this because my therapist assigned it to me as “homework” and told me I’d love it or hate it. I thought I’d hate it, but I’m doing okay with it as long as I don’t go in expecting science

I did not really like Feed Them Silence so I’m keeping my fingers crossed that The Woods All Black works better for me

Meryl Streep is, as expected, an incredible narrator

I’m too young to remember the days before airport security, which means that to me the most ludicrous part of this book so far is the ability to sneak $75k worth of bills on an airplane under a suit jacket.
