I’m sorry…my heart ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹. Truly, the timelines in this book are so big, so traumatic, so LIFE ALTERING. I’m just…wow. I’m processing and I’m not even done yet.

Oh my gosh. I just…I did not anticipate this particular gut punch. Wow.

This book has me so stressed

“Grief, he explained to me gently, is a process that has only a beginning. We work through it, not get over it.”

“Civil war is always about personal gain, no matter what the mob thinks as they die.”

“Fear is a lack of control, realized.”

“Grief never really leaves you, but at some point it becomes remembered rather than enveloping.”

“…a man is known by his failings until he is known by his actions. Just because you are not right for a place does not mean you were never meant to be there.”

“Grief, my mother once told me, is love’s most honest expression. The last and hardest aspect of truly, truly caring for someone.”

“She explained through choking sober that without grief, love would be meaningless. Because it is impossible to truly love something that cannot be lost.”

Everyone is hiding something and I’m struggling to out this down. Why did I wait so long to read this one?

I can't decide if I'm enjoying this one so much because of how good it is, or if it's because Dan Stevens narrates it. Loving this one, and he just makes it that much better

This book is making me smile and feel some relatable feels at the same time. Oh my goodness.

I love how this is written. The story is told so beautifully.

But gosh darn it this story has gotten a bit depressing. I knew it would, but man…

Ah yes, there's the emotional damage I've been waiting for. My heart...

I don't usually post updates of how far I am in my books, but oh man I just...I feel this one deep in my soul. I've been missing that feeling so much and I am so happy I found it.

Not sure if this was the best choice, given the day and all. But oh my goodness this is already so beautifully told and gut wrenching and ugh...it's so close to a lot that I felt (minus some key differences for the plot of the book).

Oof...gunna need to take breaks on this one.

I may have already predicted what happens...🤷🏻‍♀️
