10% and realizing how much I’ve missed great writing. The prose is vivid and interpretative, almost like reading an oil painting. The way the author writes about nature and connects it to the heart of the story is magic.

DNF. The narrator for the audiobook is wonderful and the story is promising but also a bit heavier than anticipated.

What the fuck? I thought this was going to be a light nostalgic romcom. This book is devastating and I can’t stop reading it. If I had the hard copy I would sticky note pages and highlight quotes because the writing is beautiful.

One of my favorite aspects of Ken Follett’s novels is how richly he writes characters and their relationships. I know I’m in for a great story every time I start one of his books, and he never disappoints. Formulaic in the best possible way, I’ll read anything he writes
