Started this as a sort of 'on the side, short story before bed' read in the midst of the series I'm in the middle of. It seems I will be having nightmares if the first chapter on Erzsebet Bathory is anything to go by... I'm really enjoying the perspective and voice of this author and am excited to continue reading.

The way this story is building and all the characters storylines are joining together is soooooo good I'm having a great time.

Boy oh boy do I love some queen and her handmaiden trope

I'm invested. I love when a story is told through multiple different POVs with occasional crossovers. Really gets me goin. Also the dragons are cool.

Been wanting to read this for a long time! I'm excited but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little overwhelmed already with the depth of the world. This one might take me a while.

The end of Act 2 was almost anticlimactic but the way Act 3 is starting has me big hype. It's hard to put down right now!

Part 3 - final part of the final book! Homestretch!

Every time I start having fun everything gets real not fun real quick... This series is brutal man. My favorite characters always disappointing me... There's only 2 I still like. Love/hate relationship with this whole thing man.

New favorite character! Souji's the man!

Ah yes, back to the whiplash. Main characters still horrible! War is still terrible! But I'm immediately immersed back into the world and it's politics despite the long break I've had since finishing the previous book.

Big fan of Arcane so I've been excited to revisit the world and learn more about the Medardas. My girlfriend had me watch the 'Blood, Sweat, and Tears' League of Legends music video before reading the prologue so that was a great experience to start off with!

Carmilla got game fr

Oh yeah this one's hittin

Been wanting to read this one for years, finally getting around to it!

Made it to Act 2. I'm more invested this attempt but jeez I miss the first book... These new characters being introduced don't capture my interest nearly as much as the ensemble of the first book. I'm holding on with each reference to preceding events, but I need the story to get a move on!

It's about time... Been about a year since I read Gideon. I needed that time to mourn the first book but I'm ready now.

Didn’t enjoy Act 2 as much as Act 1 but it finished strong and I’m very much reengaged!

Finally had some time to read!!! Still really enjoying this book but life's been busy and my free time was overtaken by video games of late oops hehe

Enjoyed Act 1 of this book more than I did the entirety of the first book!
