In a mafia romance era.... 🫠

Read this back in High School for AP English. Rereading it now with a fresh perspective and a better understanding of literature in general compared to my high school self. Hopefully I'll have more insightful comments now instead of "damn this woman is crazy."

Having the same issues with this one as with "Bring Up the Bodies".... just having trouble getting into it. I'll put it down for a while and try again some other time. It took a couple of tries for me to get wrapped up in "Bring Up the Bodies" but once I was, it turned out to be one of my favorites so I'm not going to give up on this one completely quite yet.

Now that I have gotten used to mantel's style, I am actually enjoying this book very much.

Mantels writing style was difficult to get used to at first. I could only handle reading it in short sessions. I put it down for a week due to other commitments, but now that I have picked it up again, the story is much clearer and I am able to comprehend much easier.

My first ever Stephen King book. So we shall see how it goes. So far it's interesting. Trying to get used to his style of writing.

The beginning made it difficult to draw me in. I've tried reading this book in the past but I couldn't get past the first one hundred pages. Now that I'm further in the book, the plot is more engaging and has a sense of adventure which is what I was looking for after reading the summary. With many twists in events, this book has intrigued me.
