So yeah, sampled this on my KU trial, and pretty much immediately spent one of my Audible credits on it, and not for the plot... Although from skimming through it, the thin veneer of a plot seems fun and angsty enough.

Of COURSE the David arc starts with Marco trying, and failing, to hit on some girl.

"So," she said shakily, "I guess you *are* a werewolf after all."

"We morphed to dolphin, and waited for the world to end."

Was trying to think of what this plot was reminding me of, when it finally hit me - Remember Me! Given that K.A. seems to be a Star Trek fan, I wouldn't be surprised.

Oh God, Wil Wheaton has the worst German accent. My ears are bleeding...

The mentions of Redding and Weed, CA are bringing me back to when I took the Greyhound to UBC Vancouver and Redding in my junior (?) year of high school. I even still have my "I'm High On Weed California" Mt. Shasta shirt that I've never had the guts to wear in public, for fear people won't get the joke.

Whee, the (technically) last gaymers book I haven't read yet finally came through on Libby! If only I didn't have 5 books that are on between a 12 week and "several month" hold. (Daindreth's Assassin, Warriors #1, Bitter Burn, ACOTAR, and Everything is Tuberculosis)

It's weird going from loving a Wil Wheaton narration, to fucking adoring the Project Hail Mary narration, to being mildly disappointed that The Martian is *only* narrated by Wil Wheaton.

Fuck Lies Agreed Upon (ch. 28) for sending me down a rabbit hole of trying to understand quantum superposition using my limited understanding of linear algebra, discrete math, Calc I & II, and Schrödinger's cat.

I hate when a series read through is on hold because I'm waiting for the next volume to be available on Libby. Beeb waiting for volume 15 of Animorphs for 4 days now, and the things are less than 4 hours long. Nice to own 13/62 audiobooks.

You know, for a book that's as plot heavy as this one, where one of the MMCs is a usually sex averse demisexual, and where most of the spice scenes (so far) are actually quite light on the more explicit spice (due to the character's baseline sex aversity)... The cover is frustratingly misleading. Not in the sense that I feel there was a bait and switch, but that others might get a false impression.

OMG, Arthur's VA is so fucking nasal. And apparently he doesn't know how to pronounce 'blech'? I may drop this one just because of the fucking VA for one of the MCs.
