I was expecting more insight into economics, but its a collection of anecdata (albeit interesting and well told), written by someone whose conclusions I don't like and don't want to agree with but bear thinking about anyway.

this is the third book I've read this year that I've done a lot of yelling at, but understanding people who are wrong and why they think what they do helps when making your case

This book is distinctive and unusual: it's actually a very God-centred, christian book on cooking and feeding others. It ties into hospitality and not being a martyr; it's very down to earth and I am finding it very helpful as I think through what I cook, and why.

I am loving this book. I don't have much time to read but if this is the only book i read this year i can't say I'll regret it. Fantasy adventure with layers upon layers of meaning, CS lewis level skewering of characters and above all, a strong sense of adventure and hope.

This book is absolute gold - it doesn't give answers as such, but it does give lots of related info and different perspectives that help shed light on things. It tells you four different views' take on each bit of the book, which i am finding really helpful.

This book reminds me of an old great-uncle. He had a prickly day-old beard, was gushingly friendly but socially inappropriate, and reacted to the weirdest things; he panicked when a balloon popped. I didn't think much of him until i found out that he'd escaped Auschwitz, where he lost his wife and son, before making it to Australia and running a factory. Like this book- easy to underestimate but contains much wisdom.
