McKenzie > Recent Status Updates

I really avoided reading this because the premise sounded predictable and blasé. However, so far the writing is so good that I can't stop reading. Every chapter is written to keep the reader entertained, like an unfinished scene. The character interactions are not dragged out like in so many other YA novels. And the author's description of music and the difference between musical instruments is pure poetry.

Sitting at a solid 4 stars right now. Enjoyable, not the best book I've ever read, but the characters are very different.

Good, but a little on the slow side.

Sam: if I were about to fall off a cliff, what would you do? Evie: push? Sam: I don't believe that. Evie: You would on the way down. I am thoroughly entertained.

This is so over-the-top, no subtlety. The book reads like an uncomfortable romance novel, featuring rape fantasy. Very DH Lawrence and Laurell K Hamilton present "Fifty Shades of Twilight" May DNF, this is just... Awkward... And the plot is not moving forward... And I don't know if I can sit through 14 more hours of this.
