This is by far the best textbook I have ever seen on quantum mechanics! Those chapters on mathematical foundations on QM are just so precious and priceless!

"My father said she was a strong woman, and I believe a strong woman may be stronger than a man, particularly if she happens to have love in her heart. I guess a loving woman is almost indestructible."

This woman right here is my mamma. My mother is a woman with love in her heart, my mother is indestructible.

To you she was because you built her. I don’t think you ever saw her, only your own creation.”

I don’t like this book as in I like it so much but I don’t like the doors of thoughts that it is opening for me. I got quite mesmerized that I took on a ramble to clear out my head and how I feel about it. I can’t quite understand why it just made me sad and made me think of the “simulation”-isms. I think it made me sad cuz it crushed some ideas I took in high regards. Such as love.

Aufgeregt!

One thing that attracts me the most is how he says that we have no actual conception of the self but only of a bundle of sensations associated with the self.

Hume argued that desire is the motive for human behavior rather than reason and there aren’t any innate ideas but only ideas that are generated from what we directly experience. Stating that rationality cannot help to justify inductive reasoning as well as causality cuz we human beings get our assumptions from our customs and constant conjunction rather than logic.

I completed Chapter 1, essential for mastering the mathematical foundations of Quantum Mechanics. While I haven't fully mastered it, I encountered numerous new concepts I previously thought irrelevant or unrelated to QM, but they are crucial. The Dirac notation is elegant, and Hermitian operators, their diagonalization as well as Eigenvalue Problems are fascinating, albeit still challenging for me.

You know what is crazy & sad? Our out of date lecturers in my bachelor didn't even bother to teach us Fourier transformation, which led to making me feel stupid when I first encountered it. Anxious to see where to learn (I don't like learning on YouTube or some other website, I like books. Old school.) I found this book, and it is exactly what I wanted!

This one is not it but it’s what my professor’s recommendation and his lecture notes are largely based on this textbook. It’s irritating and frustrating how there are so many material on QM and each with its own way of writing and organizing with various interpretations.

Nature, a beautiful contradiction. So magnificently complex, it splinters into a kaleidoscope of oddities. The human mind, for all its vaunted prowess, flounders in the face of such exquisite chaos. Perhaps that's the true beauty, the point where even our grand illusions of control crumble to dust.

I am short for words to describe how much I love this series of books by the profound and clever physicist Jakob Schwichtenberg!
I’m always anxious when I open a standard textbook and I see lots of strangeness in them without connecting the dots or really understanding everything thoroughly (it’s possible but it will take a lot of time). This series is an aid to my perfectionist mind.
