Okay. I have read tons of romance novels in my life but I’m not sure I’ve read one that made me feel icky like this. Maybe because romance novels don’t pretend to be anything they are not. I read about how much Michael loves Angel and I think that isn’t love, dude. It’s a twisted thing with a sprinkling of Bible verses. I’m not the halfway through and I don’t know if I can finish this.

I hate Violet and Wendy. Seriously two of the most messed up characters that so far have no redeeming qualities. I feel terrible for Jonah and how these people are treating him.

As I’m reading this all I keep thinking is - Man, Helen has shitty friends!! She’s uncomfortably pregnant and high risk and everyone convinced her to have a house party and she’s always having to drive herself everywhere. Everyone is constantly offering her alcohol. Her husband, family, friends… shite, all of them.

I can’t finish this book. I love this author, but I don’t care enough about Margaret Tudor to continue. She’s selfish and completely unlikeable.
