It is taking me a long time to read through this. I am only on page 43 after two hours :(

I am enjoying it, though the criticisms of other readers to hold weight. It shifts around a lot.

I just don’t even know. Alex Cross is so sadly two-dimensional. I just finished reading an awkwardly tame sex scene where the love interest declared he was “the one,” and the villain seems so petulant and hateful. Anyone have a Patterson recommendation for me, one that will make me more appreciative of his work?

The mystery builds slowly with sub mysteries. You know the general direction from the description, but I’m still excited to see the detailed layout.

Listened to a lot while walking and pitting the finishing touches on my kid’s room. Hoping I can get another hour or two in tomorrow.

Enjoying it so far.

My audiobook for the next two weeks. I’m only an hour in (out of 12 and some change). I am enjoying it so far.

It is alright. I’m not the target demographic for this one though.

My audiobook for the week.

Losing track of details sometimes. I find my mind drifting while I listen from time to time. But honestly it doesn’t hinder the plot much. The narrator catches you up to speed.

It’s good so far. A lot of attention to detail. Not used to reading books that take place in higher society. Usually that is off putting, but this one isn’t. Learning some new dialogue techniques from this dude as well.

Where’d this guy come from? This is really well done so far.

Audiobooking something a little different.

I have a lot of driving this weekend, so another audio book it is. I like this one so far.

I’m digging this. Would have been a good winter read!

Gotta audiobook something. This book is tailored towards a younger audience, but it’s a great premise for all ages.

Audiobooking this on the way to work. Pretty good so far.

I am just about to get into the journal entries. I’m enjoying this approach. It’s a good book. #bonerflutes

This is good. Small doses of humor throughout. Relatable characters. Tone and style are consistent, and the paranormal elements are peppered throughout nicely, building steadily as you go.

Getting better now. I think I was initially thrown off by the narrator’s voice. I’m going to pick up a copy on the shelves and read a few pages just to see exactly how much this is the case.

In any event, the book is picking up the pace now.

I’m enjoying this. I like the conversational tone of the book. I feel like I’m sitting down chatting with the protagonist over a beer, listening to a few interesting happenings.

So this is my audiobook to listen to while doing chores while I read Keene’s book at night and on days off.

I’m not feeling this so far. The narrator seems so contrived. The dialogue seems the same. It’s like everyone is talking with an air of pretension. It might just be the reader though. Not sure.

But I’m going to keep checking it out.

Half way. A lot of characters and alien names I’m unsure of, but I’m getting used to this shit. Most of the time it is just pointless name drops for vet fans. Other than shauuul-kaur nephalaaaa, gronk-e-scur, and daur-el-kataanzil, the book is alright so far.

About an hour left. I’ll be done this week.
