I think this story is pretty good, but it would be better if it wasn't crammed with so much stuff. There's too much stuff. And there's not enough time to sit and dwell on stuff. Like she apparently has a close friend that wasn't mentioned until half in and who has pretty much disappeared.
It needs either more time to develop or more focus.
