I first read Mother Night while in high school and wrote my impressions based on what little I knew about The Third Reich, WW11, or spycraft.
Now,as a 68 year old retired school teacher, rereading Kurt Vonnegut’s great book, Mother Night, takes on new meaning.
Vonnegut’s ability to show the irony of a play write turned double agent, shows despair, deep love, and the horror of war. Read!

It’s slow going. Not nearly as good as The Year of Magical Thinking, which was amazing.

These books have become repetitious and over sensationalized. I like to binge read authors, but after the first two, they became predictable and over sensationalized.
