The contrast between Chiamaka and Zikora’s stories and choices is almost startling, consistent only in their history and the culture driving their choices through conformity or rebellion.

Finally getting moving on this one! The third-person perspective definitely takes a bit of getting used to.

Really not sure where this book is heading but the lyrical nature of Espach’s prose makes it hard to put down in spite of that

The transitions between past and present in third voice make the story so vivid yet so distant - very unique reading experience.
