Well... it's okay. But the main plot is not moving anywhere. Which sucks.

I think—I say "I think" but I am not sure—it's high time to get back to this book.
I remembered only one thing about this series. That the first chapter summed it all up, so I did not have to read the previous books again.
Phew.
And after few pages I realized what I liked about this series in the first place. The cheesiness of it.
Let's hope I won't remember the stuff I hated as easily as this.

I've never been more scared to actually start reading a book...

Epic by Sarina Bowen & Elle Kennedy: 5* — I missed those two so much, so freakishly much! I think I’ve melted from the cuteness-overload somewhere within first chapter. And chapter five had me smiling like a lunatic. God, have I mentioned how much I missed these guys?

Songbird by Penny Reid & L.H. Cosway: 3* — As someone who loves everything Penny Reid and L.H. Cosway write, I found this story a little bit lacking when it came to vibe they usually manage to evoke in me. I think it was the shortness of it. The story started and just like that, the end appeared.

The Christmas Crown by Sierra Simone & Kennedy Ryan: 3* — It took me a while to get into this story. It was an average story for me, I can’t say anything bad or good either about it.

Kissmas in New York by Vi Keeland & Penelope Ward: 4* — Me likey! Chet and Margo were fun to read about.

Baby it’s Cold Outside by Corinne Michaels & Melanie Harlow: 1* — I couldn’t connect with the main characters at all. Plus, I had to stop myself from skipping this short story multiple times and that says it all.

Just The Tip by L.J. Shen & Helena Hunting: 2* — I expected something more from these two authors. Not a boredom in almost all chapters they wrote.

I wish so hard for one unpredictable thing to happen in this story. So far, it looks like I will get nothing.

I am in love with M. So in love! She's an amazingly written character.

This pretty has landed on my kindle. I think I'm gonna die of happiness...
but right after I read it.

I've just learned that Johanna Lindsey has died.

It feels like a piece of my heart has chipped away knowing I'll never read anything new from this amazing author who gave me so many beautiful books, so many adoring and quirky characters...

She introduced me to the world of romance and become my number one author throughout the years.

Rest in piece, Johanna Lindsey.
Thank you for all the books. ❤

The name-dropping (of many previous characters Max Monroe have written) has started pretty early in this book... *eyeroll*

Clichéry #2

The Waitress: There is always one that keeps checking out the heroine's guy, sending their numbers to them, making inappropriate comments in front of the heroine. And all that just to show us how freakishly hot the hero is, because we clearly wouldn't be able to figure it out any other way...

I think I'm gonna start a diary about clichés in books... I'll call it a clichéry.



#1: Past relationships: Either there were no sex at the end (so book can have a virginal taste of fate) or ex was a moron, a bitch, an abuser etc., so we can see how much of an improvement the new guy/girl is...

Let's hope third time's the charm...

I really loved how this book started, but after first mention of Emory from previous book, it all went down-hill.
Fast.
My enjoyment dropped because suddenly, every character from previous story started to make an appearance on regular basis... Why-y-y-y-y-y-y? *whines*

So far, it's all M to the Eh.

The feels this book is giving me!

Jesus, this book... I don't even know how far in the story I got, it's so... meh. And the hero is so... stupidly meh. And the heroine is so... pushover-y meh.

Much better than the previous book of LLV I've read.

So far, I'm not that impressed with this story as I thought I would be...

I am quite surprised how much I am bored with this story. :(

I don't think I'm gonna be able to survive seven more books about these super interesting and popular siblings. Their parents should have used condoms... for my sanity.
I'm only reading it out of loyalty toward Piper Rayne, I guess. And of hope that it'll get better?

First, it would be nice if capital letters have stopped yelling at me.
Second, chapter three has just mentioned and reminded me everything I hated about first book.

So... Great start, huh?

So far, it's full of "you're an asshole" and "I am a dick".

I am not impressed.

I just hope this will be good. Max Monroe's books are miss or hit for me...
