I practiced some of these techniques in my interview today and my confidence jumped by 30%. Mind blowing.

This book captures Turkey’s beauty—the Aegean Sea, rich food, and languid summers—while delving into family complexities, especially between mothers and daughters. It explores cultural identity, first-generation challenges, and the struggle to preserve a "far away" language, highlighting internal conflicts and misconceptions.

The setting is in Turkey and if you are married into Turkish culture or an expat of Turkey you can understand the depths of the cultural dynamics and influence of relatives, food, and practices. I can’t put it down. It’s like reading a novella of real life!

When I think and talk about belonging, I’m viewing and approaching it from a facilitator’s perspective. The teacher and students and their families. I had not intentionally considered or thought about belonging from the community perspective. Who belongs and who has permission to do the research about the community? Community members do decide. This is essentially to forming life-long partnerships.
