Christine
Christine is starting Winter's Tale
I’m only just begun but... This book is good! Incentive! So different and full of tiny puzzles (is this real? Is this invented? Etc). Fantastical and fresh.

Christine
Christine is starting The Vanishing Half
I had to return it without finishing. It probably would have been a very good book. I was at a weird time in my life.

Christine is starting Underground: The Tokyo Gas Attack and the Japanese Psyche
Dreadful events. On the other hand, I’ve learned Japanese people have the most amazing work ethic.

Christine is starting If on a Winter's Night a Traveler
Falling in love with this book. At first I felt bitterly disappointed, but now, halfway through, it crushes me with every page I turn. I don’t ever want it to end...

Thought it would be real good. Thought it would be better than this. Too much hype, man

Christine is starting Iran: Persia: Ancient and Modern (Odyssey Illustrated Guides)
It doesn’t look like a hard book, but this was a Hard. Book. Contains so much stuff your head will explode. Jesus Christ. I thought it would be easy. So many big, glossy pictures. HEAVY

Loved it but stopped reading because the war never freaking ends. Don’t you run out of, like, people, at some point?

Christine is starting Ender’s Game (Ender's Saga, #1)
IT’S JUST OKAY. Unpopular opinion, I know.

Only reading it because other people are reading it, the people I love kind of love it, and I don’t want to feel left out.

I like it a lot.

What a lovely divine bunch of weird, epic, crazy stories. Just what I’ve always wanted.

Christine is starting The Cuckoo's Calling (Cormoran Strike, #1)
Is this a joke? A parody? Or a truly crap book? I didn’t even give it a genuine chance. I think Cormoran is a stupid name but I really loved Harry Potter & A Casual Vacancy so thot I ought to give it a chance. Stupid book so far, cast it aside almost immediately. Maybe I am the stupid one

Christine is starting Wolf Hall (Thomas Cromwell, #1)
Hahaha I thought, “O wow, how lucky to have found this book I always wanted to read it. Heard such good things about it.” Stole it. Began to read it. Realized I had already read it 2x before. Possibly am losing my mind. O well, will read it again, maybe one day move on to books 2 & 3, tho. perhaps I have already read them, too

This book is so beautiful & special, it’s arranged like a dictionary or encyclopedia — delicious stories, religious, legendary/historical, one rapid-fire after the next, and I am only on the G section. If u are a broken, confused, mixed-race/mixed-belief-system person, feeling lost unmoored utterly alone... bereft, anguished, etc., then you might also find this book helpful. For direction, inspiration, comfort
