Gah, why do I need to go to sleep.
I love reading stories of people learning a new skill, craft or magic

This is another one of these quite books that pull me in and wrap me up and will not let me leave again. I really am very interested in how Sofia will thread the needle of her alliances.

Tention brewing before the storm

So this is a book about a woman skirting around the edges of a revolution - trying not to get involved - travelling in the circles of both sides. I wonder where she would land

Mister Gout sounds really dangerous - he is way too charismatic to the point of manipulation. I don't think he is ment to be scary but I'm worried for the protagonist

I just realised that the fat character is literally called Gaut... As in an illness strongly associated with being over weigh... That just fell really fatphobic to me.

I feel a bit uncomfortable with the intense focus on how much the fat character eats and the fact that the young woman don't eat at all so far. To the point of refusing food and the fat character eating it.

It has been a long time since I have wanted to read all night

Ok I'm not a fan of the whole larp subplot, even if the stairs are super high

It had been a long time since I read more than 100 pages in a day

I finished reading a book club book! Yeah!

I hope I will have time to read all of it, but I'm not sure

It has been quite a while since I hadn't read half a book in one day. This is a sorry one, but still.

I'm rather entertained by the weird meandering nature of the story. It feels like it comes out of a different storytelling tradition than most novels I read

It's a lot less philosophical than o'shea's other work and easier to read. It's also both more normal and weirder.
Like how other protagonists Daniel is thrown around like a leaf on the surface and doesn't have a lot of say in where he lands.

I know this is fantasy med wishforfillment but can we not romancizes starking please!

As always this is a hard read.

I know now, why i didn't read this book sooner. Pure self preservation... How am I to do anything but read, while reading this. How am I to work or sleep?

This book feels like a goodbye

This book is definitely meant to be read with a cocktail in one hand.

This is the first time I have seen this in a book! A trigger warning on an individual chapter! That is such a good idea. I now know that I dumt want to start this just before bed or if I was already feeling stressed or overwhelmed
