Holy cow, this is good.

This book is scratching similar itches to City of Sacrifice, but subjects you to far less jargony nonsense. Awesome so far.

I ran out of momentum on some books I had been reading. Quick updates on each:
-Norse Mythology: this is a fun read, but the stories are familiar and I'd rather save this for a long flight.
-The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet: Just not the right time for this one. Will get back to it.
-City of Sacrifice: This book is at turns extraordinary and infuriating. Far too much jargon, too much work. But I will finish it.

so far SO good

Slow going. Clearly written by an anthropologist for anthropologists, but well worth it for all the spooky Aztec action.
