This book is non-fiction, but written so beautifully and painfully as to mask itself as a depressing novel. I have always been fascinated by The Troubles from a historical standpoint, and this book introduces me to several major players, and how their lives were affected by this horrible conflict. I hardly ever touch a non-fiction book, but perhaps this will be my gateway. Incredibly researched and written. 5/5.
