So far, not as good as the first two. I’m not devouring it the way I thought I would... but good, don’t get me wrong.

Quite possibly one of the most difficult books I have read.

Now the rancher sterilizing instruments for a wound. 1867ish? It was rare to sterilize in the civil war with the best docs on the battlefield. But sure, modern understanding of wound care has reached the wild west.

Having to work really hard at suspending disbelief. A 7 year old rancher's daughter in the wild west would know without a doubt what a hanging is.

Eh. It's ok. Kellen thinks a lot, and there's a lot of world building. I am listening, and probably would have put it down if I were reading.

It has promise, but ... struggling to get through it.

Weee! This is fun. Bought the second already.

Starting to pick up. But the main characters were only in the same room together for about 2 pages. Ms. Dunbar's imp series was genius. I'm not sold on this one yet.

Having trouble getting into it. Very complicated world she's building, and not as much character development as I like. BUT because I have read the imp series, which is a stroke of genius, btw, I will keep trying.

I love Blackthorn and Grim. Love them. And love the way this woman writes tales. But mostly I love Blackthorn and Grim.

Eye-opening, depressing, and terrifying. I become amazed at anyone who has escaped the net, and wonder, if we don't stand up for young black men, who will stand up for us when they come for us?

Ooh! Some action!

So far it's basic capitalism. And his examples are clear, but woefully devoid of nuance.
