I can't count how many times I've read this book and it's always such a delight. I sort of want all my friends to read it, and sort of really don't, for fear they might not love it and I'd have to reconsider our entire relationship. But you should definitely read it.

This is not a good book. The heroine is completely implausible, the side characters are cardboard, nothing makes any sense. The way Kya is drawn as a fantasy object - so sexy but so pure! So naive and unspoiled and vulnerable and wild! -is also deeply creepy, as are both of her romantic relationships. Not a fan.

A beautiful book, which lends itself to feminist reading with interesting but not heavy handed characterizations and reflections.

Did not love this the way I expected. Great concept, great characters, but the actual story felt a bit too explain-y and internal.
