One held hands tightly while the other wanted to let go, because of after winter Persephone won't be there any more. Surprise!

After the first real bit of action, Hades remembers he won't see Persephone after the fallout of his actions. The "action" is extremely lacklustre and boring.

Finally Zeus is doing something about Persephone being with Hades?

Maybe it's not even Zeus behind this scenario... 🙄

Hades believes there are a million reasons to honour the agreement and have persephone leave after winter. I see none with any value. Just vague reasons without development or rhyme or reason.

Still on 77% and Hades has just mentioned he doesn't want to let Persephone go after winter. That's literally all this is. Don't read it if you have trouble dnf'ing books like me ☠️

Persephone "just" realised she would miss Hades when she leaves. Nope. Sorry. She's mentioned that too many times to have only just realised. Where was the developmental editing in this book???

I wish I had marked down every single time they remembered they couldn't be together. It's already happened another 2 times since my update at 71% ☠️

Man, I'm so over hearing them remember that Persephone and Hades can't get close because Persephone has some vague and pathetic motive of leaving after winter. There is no real reason apart from the fact that she wants to find herself. This book could have been so good if not for the same boring plot spanning the entire book with no real progress ☠️

I'm really not feeling the omniscient narrator, though I do like the second person portions (no matter how little they are).

I've had way to many ARCs while reading this, but it feels like I never stopped! "Some things are ill to hear when the world's in shadow."

Tara's writing is so melodic to read aloud. Her characters' voices are unique. The story is fascinating!

I literally cannot stop reading. The twists and turns that put Tessa in a very awkward situation are enthralling!!

Also, this book is like a good version of Throne of Glass! Like, how Throne of Glass should have been written!

Oh my goodness gracious me, I love this book!!

Definitely written by a man (women seems to become sexual at the drop of a hat, while men are sensitive, innocent creatures--what are sex, boobs, and a giny?), but the plot is great so far!

Oh my word, I am enjoying this! Why more people don't read the frontmatter (and backmatter) of books is beyond me.

So far, The Stolen Kingdom is developmentally sound (akin to a traditionally published book--that the publishers had a big editing budget for). I don't believe I have enjoyed a self-pubbed book so much in a long time!

I'm rather enjoying this! Bethany is killing it with this book!

Even though the dryad hasn't presented much of a problem, the disappearance of Charlotte's mother has stirred everyone else up. This is a magical and gentle YA novel!
