I was telling a friend about this book while visiting the Met over the weekend, and decided that it's time for a reread. I remember being so jealous of Claudia and Jamie when I was a kid. Here's hoping it holds up!

My goodness, if the rest lives up to the first story, this is headed for an easy 5 stars.

Good heavens, this is excellent

I have been flitting between books this weekend, but this is the one that has grabbed me. With lines like “Mary, you know I hate parties. My idea of hell is a very large party in a cold room, where everyone has to play hockey properly,” I don’t think I can put this one down.

Well, change of reading plans this weekend. Seems like a good time to revisit a favorite, appreciate how much Rushdie has entertained and challenged me through the years, and hope like hell that he survives.

In a Georgette Heyer state of mind

Yep, time to revisit the book that made me love books all those years ago.

There are so many other books that I am “supposed” to be reading right now, but something about a sunny Sunday afternoon begs for a single sitting read.

It’s for book club, so I feel obligated to finish, but this isn’t going well. Just not my thing at all. 🙄🥱
