Came across a book written about a trans guy where the phrase "passed as a man" was used. No. Also, don't use the word "transgendered". These are irritating and uneducated things to say. Don't say them.

I cannot find a single book that catches and keep my attention. Lately, I've been starting books and then discarding them after a couple of measly chapters. Feel like I'm going crazy with nothing to read. :/

This book is incredibly date rapey and the main character is homophobic.

A page summary: this dude is gorgeous af... oops. crap. I mean... no homo, bro. I'm totally not gay. In the slightest.

Already off to a promising start, apparently.

I need some spooky books with a gay, romantic subplot to help get me in the mood for fall.

I have two books I'm reading and both of them are literally so boring that I've fallen asleep in the middle of them.

I want to like this book. I really do, but I keep sticking with it and it keeps letting me done. I'm gone keep pushing through, but my expectations are low.

This book has many things that are incredibly problematic. If you're wanting a primary romance that is gay or involves two men, then look elsewhere. The side characters are involved in a m/m relationship, but the main character is in love with a woman.
This wouldn't bother me except for the rampant transphobia that exists within these pages.

Starting to get spoopy.

I feel as if I'm reading someone's very boring and dry journal. Only on page 10 and I feel that the author is doing a very poor job of mimicry. Imitating long-dead writing styles doesn't work well. The author should leave that to the classical authors who knew what they were doing.

Right off the bat and only one sentence in and it is an almost exact mimicry of Jane Eyre, but y'know. With a man.
