Human degeneration halts and sputters but doesn't reverse.

Do laws and institutions change values, or do values drive laws and institutions?

When one student was being taught, the others should sit by and listen, pick up on the mistakes and the corrections, memorize the composition. Yet the teacher had to establish a rapport with each student individually, to bring forth his or her distinguishing quality.

Everyone was well versed in how they were expected to behave towards the regime. They had mouths only to keep shut, hands only to make obeisance, knees only to bend and kneel, backs only to bend, and bodies only to shrink before the authorities.

The regime had the power to turn its own people, at any moment, into adversaries, enemies and traitors.

People are ignorant of the things that affect their actions, yet they rarely feel ignorant. We need to accept our ignorance and say 'I don't know more' often.

We're a bit too quick to come up with explanations for things we don't really have an explanation for.

Inquisitiveness of human beings to understand the secrets behind the wonders occurring in their surroundings paved way for the emergence of 'science' ,which brought in miraculous impact on the humanity.
