literally painful the others have been interesting and kind of cozy/comforting if at times frustrating but i think i might hate this one LOL

ok so what i’m realizing is gandalf is deff the main character and he’s literally holding middle-earth together with his bare hands

hooooow did nobody tell me eowyn killing the witch king is even cooler in the book !!! “…Maiden of the Rohirrim, child of kings, slender but as a steel-blade, fair yet terrible. A swift stroke she dealt, skilled and deadly.“ i know he really failed on the having any female characters front but i do love when he describes them as terrible 💕

listen. i rolled my eyes when saint became a cop but i persevered. then i (mostly) forgave the abortion and the secret child and the random cancer. but the out of the blue third act murder might just push me over the edge — rarely has a book committed so many personally specific cardinal sins makes me want to dnf at 77%. like i won’t but damn.

i am really liking her take on the unreliable narrator !

struggling because it feels like 2.5 books into this trilogy i would really love to have seen a little more outwardly apparent character growth from dara. he’s having so many mutinous inside thoughts but continues to follow manizheh’s unhinged orders and commit heinous acts. i really hope he does something redeeming soon because the self pity for acting like a monster is exhausting.

ok i’m sorry nahri is supposed to be like soooo smart and sneaky but repeatedly she makes the dumbest fucking decisions like loose lips sink ships babe !!! you’re living a political nightmare! you should know so much better! after 5 years!

aaaah so much i want to say so many conversations i want to have about each of the stories i’ve read so far. each of them stuck with me in different and significant ways, all small stories that feel expansive. i love the imagery in prince hat and i love the characters in skinders veil. i love the familiarity in the girl who did not know fear and the white road is just so unsettling. cant wait to read the rest!
