When the prelude gives you chills, you can already sense the depth of what you are about to read. I feel myself somewhat terrified to continue. But also thrilled at the chance to even come across such a story.

team Emily and Wendell forever

i need some magic in my life and rereading this book in 5 years seems like exactly what i gotta do ✨

“I'm honestly worried, because I think we're just starting to get used to the impact that the social internet is having on us culturally and emotionally and socially. It wasn't exactly bringing us together before this, right? But now I'm worried we have this whole other massive change to get used to. If we keep driving wedges, if we keep getting more and more scared…”

the urge to reread is strong with these wild times

this is so so good, i am obsessed

only 5 chapters in and i’m already eating this up dude why is emily henry so good

finally reading this 😭 hope it lives up to all of my waiting

so far this is her best!! and rocio is the best

emily henry never disappoints. 4.5 stars. such a cute story that ties family in so well with the romance.

umm this is the most forward and intense first encounter 😳

am i one of the few romcom lovers that really has no love towards main characters that are this ridiculous / delusional??? truly disrupting the parts of this book that were finally picking up

😐 the delusion is lasting too long

fake dating never disappoints ahhhhh

this book brings me so much joy & has me so excited to travel more + experience as many of the places named as possible

Chapter 25!!! Jess standing her ground 🥹 yessss girl, no communication IS communication — one that undermines the value of someone in your life. This discussion on unacceptable behavior is so real and honest

the end of ch17!!! we love emotional availability and connection ;;

the way the framing in this book is inspiring me so much already and i’m not even a full quarter in yet

okaaaay CL getting to me again

starting this off with enrique peñalosa’s work and influence in chapter 1 is absolutely the best hook and boy has it got me excited to read the rest of this

“University Heights. Cool.”
“Wait, El Zarape? Coincidence, there’s also one in our UH!”
“HOLD UP. GASLAMP?”
“…Mission Hills, of course.”

It took me hearing several sentences of references to SD areas before finally realizing that, yes, this is set in SD. Sweeeet. I had to pause in my walk because I semi drifted off until this. ☠️

the audiobook version is sooo gooood

“You are an active participant in your own healing.” Only an hour into this audiobook and it is already exactly what I needed.

As a friend reminded me, true healing is not passive. It is work. And it is hard. But it is so worth it.

hm not sure i feel too intrigued by this so far

amazing

over halfway through and the story is BARELY moving forward ahhhh soooo frustrating

so far… it’s a meh :/
