So far there are two main characters, with an every-other-chapter set up. Nella, an 1790s apothecarist, I'm liking a lot. Caroline, the present-day narrator-character, I am not.

Apparently you only get 500 characters on progress updates (🙄), so be prepared for a full-pressure bitchfest about Caroline when I finish this.

I am so confused. I have been so confused for 331 pages. What is happening??

I might come back to this but frankly I have better things to read. The premise is interesting (again, that's Kagawa's strongest suit imo) but the first three books felt like a trilogy and thus a good stopping point.

There's a lot to like about this book but good lord, it gets confusing.

I'm on tenterhooks here! How is this ending?? I'm already late to bed and begrudge having to go now.

I'm hooked, no doubt, but ouch ouch ouch. My poor heart.
