I know this book is supposed to be empowering women back in the day to take up arms and fight for their rights but like… Tell me why I don’t like Maria 😭 in some ways, I see her like her husband. Wanting power, disregarding things that don’t intrigue her. When she became a witch/gained powers her reaction fell short for me. She really went “That’s it?” after killing that woman 😭😭😭

Forgot how sad that chapter was 😭 nobody ever expects a visit from the white rabbit 😔

That sinking feeling Zacharias and Lifa are feeling… I feel like it’s something a lot of people experience even as adults.
