This is currently my favourite Heyer Romance! I'm loving the sassy FMC (Deb) & her absolutely bonkers plans to assert herself in Max's estimation. Whereas, @ the same time, she's full of kindness & consideration towards many other characters - Adrian, Lady Bellingham & Phoebe Laxton.
Meanwhile Max is straight-up & surprisingly not smug and odious, which makes a pleasant change from how Heyer usually potrays her MMCs

Whenever I'm not reading the book I find myself wondering how Cami and her pals are, what they're at and when can I spend time with them again.

Episode 29 Season 3 Obscure with Michael Ian Black

Getting increasing uncomfortable about this book. I'm sure the author intentionally set this story in the West Indies/Caribean in the 17th Century to deal with the slave trade but the focus is on "the illicit trade" of white women and children while enslaved people of colour are mere wallpaper for the characters.

Episode 28 of Season 3 of Obscure with Michael Ian Black. We started this in January & we're not quite 1/3rd way through (halfway through Chapter 13 at the moment, just before reading the letter from Isabella) so I'm not confident this will be finished in 2022 at the current rate/pace

Susannah is awful. Raphael is awful. I know they're going through a lot right now but do they have to be so awful? And towards each other? Especially towards each other. Getting whiplash from the ping-pong of their fight/make-up sex routine.
