One of those books that tells you that successful people aren’t born; they find ways to work, to practice, and eventually become better. They’re in the growth mindset & work through their insecurities. It’s aimed at children (written by an Olympic tennis table player) but prob a good reminder for anyone with easy tips/advice.

Some of my fave expressions from the last 30%:

“Humilty had gotten lost on its journey to his ego, but the two had finally been reunited, and the meeting appeared to be painful.”
“People are so preoccupied with making sense despite it being the most uninteresting thing to manufacture”
“Secrets were sometimes wrapped around tender things to keep them safe”

What a spunky almost 12 year old! My favourite are her curses. Here are a handful I’ve encountered so far:

Started off easy with the intro & the first short story: ‘The Furnished Room’ by O. Henry. It was a very short story that takes place in one room. I enjoyed the way the narrator described rental accommodation (even if this example is a pretty grim almost hostel/bedsit type). It comes to an end rather suddenly but it’s pretty clear what the outcome will be.
