PART 2 John goes on explaining how his father was such an influential part of his life even at a young age. He says that his father thought that exposing him to rich culture and art at a young age would give him appreciation for nature and all of the small details that most people overlook on a daily basis.

On percentage 9 John Lloyd Wright writes this about his father, "He designed circle draws for square paper!" This quote really shows you how unique and outspoken Frank Lloyd Wright was, during a period of seemingly bland period of architectural culture and development, a young man was showing great promise. .

PART TWO comes out with new 'insane' ideas. This quote shows how incredibly creative and unique this person is.

On percentage 9 John Lloyd Wright wrote, "'He designed circle draws for square stationary!'" John was talking about his father, Frank Lloyd Wright who was a famous architect. This quote really shows how influential and outspoken his father was. FLW is a huge inspiration of mine and he was exponentially ahead of his time. PART II

This is happening to Lina because she is consumed by fear. When you are consumed by fear you cant talk and sometimes even move. Fear like this can make you sick to your stomach, literally. Lina is also upset because she lost Poppy while buying colored pencils for herself, when Granny needed a new coat. She also spent $10 on the two pencils.

I can tell that fear is building up within the city. Ever since the first blackout they all have been worried. In this section of the book not only does someone venture out into the unknown regions of Ember, but the power goes out. To make matters worse Lina lost Poppy as the lights went out. "Heart pounding she waited. Comeback lights, she pleaded. Please come back."(30% )

I'm noticing that Doon is starting to enjoy the pipeworks although he came there to fix the generator. Doon is a character that sometimes puzzles me because he is relatable in some aspects and totally different from anyone that I know in others.

I really enjoy the vivid images that the novel creates. When they describe the cold wet pipes and the cluttered apartments I feel like I am inside of them. The book has also done a good job of getting you to feel like you are a part of the city, placing fear inside of yourself. It must be odd to have a completely dark sky no matter what time.

Although I've already read this book it was a long time ago and I want to see how my opinion has changed. I enjoy the authors vivid imagery used to describe the city and the character's appearance. I feel like Lina and Doon will become friends again because the author foreshadows it when Lina says, "maybe we will become friends once again". I relate to Doon because we both have a short fuse.

PART TWO: I was amazed at the teams transformation as well. This book was relatable to me because I row on port rowing and understand the hard work, dedication and trust it takes to have a successful boat. Rowing in particular is an extremely difficult sport because if one thing is off than the whole boat fells it.

PART ONE: The character Joe has really changed from the beginning of of the novel to the end. He started off as a nobody with no one, as the book progressed he found family within the team. When the eight-oar boat reached the olympics Joe was astonished, he really couldn't believe it. Someone who started with nothing is now rowing in an Olympic boat with q mix of all different kinds of people.

I cant believe thus team is going to be in the olympics. They were made up of all novices and now they are one of the best boats.

The book is relatable to me and I have enjoyed it so far. It started of a little slow and boring but as I read I started to relate my rowing experience with theirs, u would think about go we have trouble moving boats but their boats are ten times heavier Andrade of wood instead of fiberglass. I can't wait until they are in the Olympics.

If I was Anne I would probably go insane, she has already been experiencing signs of depression because she hasn't gone outside in over a year. If I was in Anne's position constantly on edge I would have an anxiety attack every time I here a creak in the floorboards.

It must be so boring in the annex. I would not be able to stand more then a week in there. I can imagine Anne dancing around on her tiptoes so she doesn't make a noise.

I like how tense it is when they are going to the annex, they hear noises and see things but my heart stopped pounding once they reached the annex.

I'm enjoying the book. I liked the part were they are going to the annex because it is so intense, you never know when they are going to get caught, every time I read it my heart pounds.
