I got 2 pages in and thought, "holy shit."
I got 10 pages in and thought, "holy fucking *shit.*"

Shaping up to be an intense read. The language is very clean and direct, which is good for a translation, and very impactful for a memoir.

Katie is on page 202 of 335 of The Extra Woman: How Marjorie Hillis Led a Generation of Women to Live Alone and Like It
This is a very informative book, if a bit more academic than I expected. While the title and subtitle imply a close focus on Hillis and her bestseller, many chapters range far afield, focusing on other prominent single women, the nightlife of Prohibition-era New York (a surprisingly dry chapter (I swear that pun wasn't intentional)), etc. I am glad I'm reading this but not as engrossed as I expected.

"Idiot," Proginoskes said, anxiously rather than crossly. "Love isn't how you feel. It's what you do."

"Not everyone is able to see me," he told her. "I'm real, and most earthlings can bear very little reality."

Only a few chapters in and already want to recommend this book to anyone who produces (or consumes, for that matter) online content.

Katie is 66% done with The Power Of Less: The Fine Art of Limiting Yourself to the Essential
Occasionally, there will be gems such as "Eliminate stress. Find the stressors in your life, and find ways to eliminate them" without further context. GOSH I NEVER THOUGHT OF THAT.
