Με κουράζει, και ξενερώνω. Ξέρω ότι έχω διαβάσει λίγο, μα εκεί που μού αρέσει, εκεί μού τη δίνει στα νεύρα και το παρατάω, κι όχι μόνο αυτό, μου έρχονται και στο μυαλό σχολιάκια τύπου, "χέσε μας ρε Φώουλς τώρα". Σχωρατε με, ίσως φταίει που είμαι κλεισμένη μέσα. Μ' αρέσει αλλά με ξενερώνει, αυτό.

Τούτο το βιβλίο το άρχισα, γιατί είχα δώσει το λόγο μου πως θα το διαβάσω, σε έναν άνθρωπο που αγαπώ πολύ. Έφυγε ο άνθρωπος, κι έμεινε η αγάπη μου και το βιβλίο. Και, ελπίζω, και το λέω με το χέρι στην καρδιά, να αγαπήσω και το βιβλίο.
