It's taken 3 checkouts from the library, but I've finally reached 50%. The book gets better and more intriguing the further in you get. It's definitely slow, and more character-based than action-based though.

Omg, this book is hilarious and sweet and I’m loving it. The book club is awesome and witnessing the guys dissect a romance story and apply it to real life is amusing and amazing. And “book boner” is a great way to rate romance books.

Listening to this audiobook now, with the world self-isolating due to coronavirus, is probably not the best idea... I have a feeling the emotions I'm feeling while listening have less to do with the actual story than with what I'm feeling myself.

This is such a long, slow moving story. It's easy to put down, and hard to get back into. It's more about characters than plot, and none of the characters are super interesting.

Classic feeling historical fiction, this has everything I expect from a book like this, plus an unexpectedly strong love story between Jacquetta and Richard.

This reminds me really strongly of the Dresden files, both story and narration.
