Emma is reading The Virgin Suicides
Really enjoyed this. I'd seen the film a few years ago and it was interesting to note the differences.
I still find the saddest part of the book the moment with Lux on the football field. Those girls were used and abused. They didn't have a chance.
Honestly, this is one of those books that could be discussed on end, just like the issue itself.

It's taken me 64 pages to realise that Leo & Elsa are written in first person, but Max is written in third person.

My God, this is so BORING. Why people like this book, I will never know. How many times can Matt Haig tell me that library shows a person's life and infinite possibilities? I got it the first time you said it 😴

I've been waiting to read this for ages and luckily it's started out just as good as I'd hoped! Really gripping and can't wait to read on.

Loving this book so far. It's been on my TBR for ages. I had read one of the last books in the series a long time ago and enjoyed it, but this one is a lot more action oriented. It's an aspiring writer's dream too - it has everything from narration and perspective changes to literally burning things down when the characters reach safety to heighten tension. Great book.

Turns out I have read this book before, I guess I read it in secondary school. I have a faint memory of the end but don't remember exactly what happens which is good so I can re-enjoy it.

I am enjoying this book much more than I thought I would. Ahlberg's insight into the changes from childhood to adulthood is poetic and thoughtful: "yes, like passing trains, I guess, the world goes over way and we, though gazing backwards, go the other".

Why has it taken me this long to read this? Probably because I tried Sputnik when it first came out and didn't enjoy it. Cosmic is brilliant though! Thoughtful and hilarious at the same time. I visited a local primary school in the weekend who happened to be teaching it and I can see why!

Okay, I thought this book might be too sickly sweet, but it's not! The characters are all flawed which makes them really likeable. I'm looking forward to reading on.
