Do yourself a favor and listen to the audiobook. The macabre songs that the cook sings have to be heard. The hilarious juxtaposition between the lilt and the lyrics is a riot.

A bit harsh, maybe, but I love this quote " I didn’t know that empty rationalization was part of your programming,” said Ram. “We would not be fit companions for human beings without it"

It's a good sign-I'm stopping to read exchanges of dialogue out loud. I, too, may be falling in love with you, Verity Price!

I want to hate a book whose premise is that musical theater productions between 1978 & 2003 represent the death of the artform, and hate the author as well. But, when he makes statements like the quote I added to my favorites, I feel like I'm reading a book written by my clone.

"I miss you. I miss you so f**king bad it hurts, but I don't know how to find you even though you're right in front of me."

Damn, she is spot on with this story. Being in this type of situation really, thoroughly sucks. Really hoping the resolution of this will be cathartic.

If only every book had the equivalent of "Previously . . ." I can never remember where we left off in the last book.

Why does that Cyndi Lauper song keep playing every time we look for the pirate treasure to keep our homes from being sold to land developers?

Struggling to get into this one. I hate any and all recap crap when I come right off the previous book into this. I miss the days when ML would have a prologue that you could skip if you were up on the previous book(s)

It came today - my FirstReads bounty!!! So far, so good. Has a few stock fantasy concepts (I'm waiting for our hero to have a blue pointed cap and a mop and bucket combo ala Fantasia)
