Really can’t wait for the English translation for this!

What a wonderful opening! The narrative reminds me of Kazuo Ishiguro’s remains of the day. I think I’m going to fall in love with Kundera.

I'm so tempted to drop this for the 3rd time..

Promising introduction, with quite a philosophical focus on the approach to practicing a musical instrument.

What a wonderful book this is! I'm only about an inch deep into this ginormous brick and I'm already hooked! Well mostly because I was terribly fond of human geography back in school; I had a terrific teacher! Anyway I'm probably going to take a month to finish this!

I think the despair captured in this one is subtler than Orwell's 1984, and the depth of the pathos felt by D-503 is certainly more ardent than Winston's.
