Im trying to get past the corniness and melodramatic assumptions of high school through Chiamaka’s eyes. Hopefully, I can get tied into the mystery of this book but I know it’s just establishing character and maybe Chiamaka is meant to be this way initially.

So i definitely guessed right. Ositi and Vivek’s relationship expands the boundaries of cousins of even brothers.

Even though you know the end through the title and from the beginning, Im really still expectant, like Im missing some parts. Osita’s POV has me choked up i love the narrative from a cousin so close to be considered a brother, but borderline a romantic figure.

At this point, my dilemma is whether the love Akin has for Yejide is the downfall of their marriage or if it’s the ambition for motherhood Yejide possesses. Either way Im slowly losing my empathy to both parties and it’s being replaced with demur of their excuses.

Yejide’s POV leaves a heart wrenching tale of abandonment that seems so familiar. Even though I can’t relate to the actual situation, her emotional turmoil can be parallel to several other events in life. Im hooked

A little slow so far, and a little bit too detailed but I’ll keep reading to see how this plays out.
