I know I won’t eat most of the traditional food being mentioned since I’m veggie but it’s interesting to learn about it.

So far better than volume one.

Good but I can only read it in small sections since there is a lot of trauma involved.

Th main character is 39 years old but they way Orwell describes him you would think he is much older. It also has the younger woman who falls for him. Ugh. So sick of this. I know this was written in 1940s but the younger woman falling for the soon-to-be middle-aged man is so overdone.

A lot of hard subjects in this book. A lot of violence. Not a light read.

Wow Octavia really knew what was going on in the world

A lot of outdated information and the quality varies depending on the writer since there is a different writer for each subject. Some cringy sexist comments though luckily at least not all the writers are male.

I admit I’ve been having trouble trying to get through this one. I restarted it again to see if I was too frazzled the first time.

Having mixed feelings about this book. I do like how it dives into people who are not conforming to society’s expectations.
However, this newer character introduced in the book is really irritating and seems to be becoming the focus. I hope the main character ditches him.
