Reading this feels like sifting through shit for a tiny pebble of what turns out to be shit as well. Mindnumbingly dull and filled with unnecessary, boring details about every. fucking. thing.

Ava Reid florally writes about the most grotesque, heinous shit ever and atp all of the characters in this are beyond redemption. I'm a fan, but it occured to me that this is not a book that will do exeptionally well, even among fans of the genre. It has huge flaws, from a storytelling-perspective. It all happens so quickly, there's not much time to ruminate. I need more depth. The atmosphere is great, though.

I love how everyone in this book is just a fucked up strange little asshole beholden to their degeneracy and then there's Liuprand the Golden ✨ who knows how to talk with moths. I'm 1000% sure he's going to kill his Jabba the Hutt ass father in the most vicious way possible.

straight up sickening, I love it

This author has me in a chokehold, I can't just pass on a book by her. She puts some kind of existential melancholia in her books that I can't help but drown myelf in. Same goes for Murakami. Something liminal, which both authors seem to have a grasp on. Like a deep yearning for it all to have a deeper meaning.

We love a man who reads. We love a man who doesn't judge people on their book choices. Liuprand the Feminist.

D is too damn gorgeous. Every new character's introduction to him is always : 'This man is too hot. How is this man so insanely hot?' And it's still hilarious. D is so unaffected by everything. All he cares about is killing stuff in a fraction of a second. There's more sci fi elements in this one, too. Anti - gravity and mind control gadgets. Mysterious old-age vampire artifacts. An underwater seaworld for vampires.

... I'm annoyed.
